Michael and Nadia are missionaries working in the BURYATIA Region in Siberia. The Republic of Buryatia is 3500 miles east of Moscow and is about the size of Germany. In the North half of Buryatia, Michael and Nadia are the only missionaries of any kind working there.

There duties include evangelism and church planting among the Russian, Evenks, Tangoosies and other groups in their area.

Republic of Buryatia - Siberia

We will be working among three unreached people groups: Buryat, Venki, and Tangoosie. Most people in this area are either Buddhist or shaman. Shamanism is the worship of spirits, and there is a head witch doctor who controls the people.

Pray for new converts and that we can plant a new church this summer. Thank you so much for your prayers.

We will be the only missionaries working in the northern region of Buryatia. There is less than 1 percent of believers. Many towns do not have any churches or believers at all.

Alert: Please pray for us. Our leadership wants us to be Co-pastors of the internatinal church plant in St. Petersburg. I would be the coordinate for Global University in Russia. I would help the Bible schools get equipped to teach students. Also, they are started outreaches to help orphans transition from the orphanage to real life on their own. Orphans are big targets for crime organizations in Russia. Also, they have summer camps for children in that part of Russia as well. These are just some of the things that leadership shared with us.

It is still with the AG and we are still working as missionaries. These are start up ministries and they don't pay our salaries. We actually have to raise funds to help the various ministries. It's more expensive to live there, especially for rent. So, we will try to raise some money for living and moving expenses.

We believe this is all of God's plan. The camping ministry in Siberia will continue without us. As missionaries we help start and equipped the nationals to do ministry, and at some point we turn it over to them. We trust the Lord to bless the ministry there. Summer 2008 Newsletter
